Wow! What an extremely busy time of year we are in. So many things going on, I'm not sure I'm keeping up, but I'm trying.
Isaiah and Angel both had field trips last week. Isaiah's was first with a trip to the Topeka Zoo, it was fun and because so many parents attended, I only had one other child with me, Isaiah, Emily and Thomas.
Angel had school that day so she went to school and the rest of us went on the field trips.
The Zoo was small and I think the kids had the most fun playing on the playground across from the Zoo. We had lunch and then played some, the school left and we went to see Bill at work after, then home.
I think Isaiah's favorite animal was the Elephants and it was in part because he couldn't believe how big their "poop" was! Oh to be with 5 and 6 year old boys. Have I mentioned that Isaiah's class is 21 kids, 14 boys and 7 girls. He gets plenty of male interaction!
Emily fell and hurt her knees when we were almost done. She is so thrilled! :(
Isaiah is finishing up Soccer and playing well. He seems to enjoy it a lot. He gets bored towards the end and wants to score goals all the time and gets a little upset when it doesn't happen, but enjoys being on the go, (much like his Daddy).
T-ball started, Angel and Isaiah are playing, or at least trying. We will know how well they are catching on when the first game comes around the end of the month. It's proving a little challenging, but at least it's teaching them some sportsmanship and team playing.
May has started out with Birthdays, Babies and Sports. It actually started towards the end of April, but nonetheless, whew!
Austin my nephew, turned 10 this year, wow can't believe it, almost a pre-teen.
Glad he is still OK with a small party of family, hanging out with his younger cousins, and pinatas. :)
He did ask mostly for money this year though, which I'm sure is just what he will be asking for from now on. He is still a sweetheart and truly loves all of us, but is growing up, my first real image of the fact that I am growing up and have an impact on someone else's life, what a thing to think about. He is skinny and short, but I can not compare my kids to him, because I grow them big. He has a tendency to add his two cents, but is extremely protective and a right fighter. We have lots of fun with him, I have come to enjoy picking him, along with my children up from school and listening to the going-ons of a 10 year old boy. His dreams and likes are interesting to say the least. He will always hold a special place in my heart.
When he was born, Bill was there with me, not my boyfriend at the time, and I said " I can't believe I'm an aunt." To which Bill replied, "I'm an Uncle" Wow! I guess he knew then, but I did not. ;)
We had larger family party to celebrate several of my cousins birthdays, I think 5 or 6 of them, and the coming home of Quinn one of the new additions to the family. She had a stay in the NICU because of Apnea and other problems, and we are blessed that she is home with her two sisters and brother now.
Also my cousin in Tn brought home a bouncing baby boy, Nolen late in the month of April.
We also had another addition this week of Arabella, another cousin, another little girl, who went home today.
Congratulations to all of the new parents. I am awaiting the arrival of several other babies sometime this summer and one within the week.

Angel's class went the next day to Play Bounce Jump, Leavenworth's version of Monkey Bizness, or a blow up gym like. She I believe had the most fun with the kitchen area in the smaller portion of the play area, but was happy to be with her friend Hydie from school, sister and cousin. It was a fun time and glad I got to be a part of it. Mom came with us and Samantha proved a little stressful, but it was fun anyway. (apparently I forgot my camera).
We also attended a little birthday party for Angel's biological half brother and half sister.
They are twins, Jeremiah and Janiah. They turned 6 on Thursday. They actually go to school with Angel. We have known about them since they were a little over 1 year old, but just recently were introduced to them through happen-stance.
They are sweet, polite, good kids who have had a rough life so far, but are taken care of as best as possible. They are being raised by their biological grandmother who adopted them a few years ago, around the same time we adopted Angel.
Angel also has another half-brother Alex, who is about 8 months old and cute! He is with Angel's biological mother and they are doing well also.
Angel loves seeing them and they don't really understand how they should know each other, but seem to be good friends no matter the reason. It's good to see them and to see their similarities and personalities together.
I'm happy for her that she can know all about it now and while growing up, it will make it easier to answer any questions she may have as she gets older. It's also good for her to have some sort of blood around her. I'm excited to see what the future holds for her and how she will feel in the future about her adoption and relatives. I'm hoping we are making this as easy and good of an experience as possible for her, and them. :)
