Isaiah got saved!

While I know that I have friends who don't believe, we believe. I don't try to push anyone to believe. I know what I believe and what I am teaching my children. While you may not agree with me or my family, I am excited. My son is going to heaven! This is what I believe. My children are a gift from God. I prayed for them before I was even married. I want to be the best example I can be for them. We haven't been to church since April or before. For one reason or another, we haven't been able to make it. That doesn't mean I am any less of a Christian than the next person. At the same time, we still talk often about God and having a relationship with Him. We pray every night before bed with our kids. We pray before every meal. It is very important to us. We still believe that God sent his son, Jesus, down to earth to die on the cross for our sins so that one day we would believe and join Him in Heaven. I do not claim to be the best Christian on the planet, or sometimes even a good person, but I try my best to show my kids that there is hope in Eternal salvation. That even though we may not always make the best decisions, God still loves us and wants us to have a personal relationship with Him. Isaiah's name means "God is my salvation." Pretty powerful. We have asked him from time to time how he feels about God and what his relationship is with Him. Sunday, we watched a singing program on TV with an area church. We sat together and watched the show and sang the songs we knew. Pretty simple stuff. There was no preaching that day and I was fine with it. It was good just to spend some time with my family in our home, singing together, worshiping God. There were no questions asked by the kids, just enjoying our time together. Later in the afternoon, we went out and when we came home, unprovoked, Isaiah said he was "going to his bedroom to talk to God." When he came out he said he "asked God to forgive him of his sins, to take care of his grandparents and Sam(my in-laws dog that recently had to be put down), and that he loved God." He then said to me "God forgave me and I forgave God." I explained to him that God is perfect and doesn't need our forgiveness, we need His. He said he understood and said he loved God so much. I left it at that. Monday night he was asking more questions and talking with Bill and I about wanting to go to Heaven. Bill took him in our bedroom and explained Heaven, Hell and what Jesus did for us, and that's when Isaiah asked God into his heart! This is not something we pushed on our son. While I want my children to believe the way we do, I want them to make that decision. It's not for me to question their salvation, nor anyone else's. We have had many discussions since then and I truly believe he has Jesus in his heart. He talks about longing to go to Heaven, and me as his mother, not being in Heaven yet myself, says "hold on baby, I am glad you want to go, but not yet!" We miss our loved ones that have gone on before us and want to see them again, but we need to stay here until God is ready for us.

We will continue to pray for him and the rest of our children as we have always done. That God will protect them, help them keep their sweet spirits, keep them from harm, have a relationship with Him one day when they are old enough/ready, and that we would be the best examples for them that we can be! We love God and want the best for our kids. At the same time, I know all too well how harsh you can be judged, if you believe or if you don't believe. We will continue to do what is best for our family. We love God very much. Whether you agree with us or whether you don't. I believe it is not for me to judge you, so please don't judge me or my children. I am excited to see where this takes Isaiah, he has always had the most amazing loving heart and I know this will just fill it more with love. He is so sweet, kind and compassionate. I pray he keeps that. I am not pushing this on him or anyone else. I believe that, that is up to God to do. If he has questions, I want to guide him in the right direction. The approach that I have seen used by some in trying to make their family/friends believe only pushes them further away. I have also seen where you believe but never say anything, where does that leave your friends/family when they need some hope? I didn't want to use this blog as an outlet for my beliefs, but I want people to know. I also know I am not perfect, don't claim to be, while I have a close relationship with Jesus, I know there are people who think that I am not living the way I should. I don't go to church, I have issues in life, and I don't have all the answers. To those who think that way, that's between me and God, while you may not agree with the way I live my life or raise my children, it's not up to you. If you would rather have nothing to do with me because of the way I live, that's fine too. If you don't believe and I am offending you, well I guess you can ask me questions, but I am telling you now, I don't have all of the answers, I leave those with God. I know I have questions for God when I get to Heaven. I don't know the why's of the world and don't always understand, but there will and always have been those. I know we are doing the best we can in raising our kids and loving Jesus the best way we can. I am excited for Isaiah who will be 7 later this week and excited for what all of our futures hold! Lots of love here!!! :)

Yet, praise the Lord! Doesn't it give you the biggest sense of joy and relief knowing that whatever happens from here on out, your child will be in heaven for eternity? I'm so happy for you and your fam.

Beautiful family picture!
