He is learning how to read still. He likes to "guess" at math. He knows how to tie his shoes, but doesn't like to. He hasn't lost a tooth yet, but his bottom two in the front are very loose. He has a mild hearing loss in his left ear due to 3 sets of tubes and constant ear infections at his young age. He loves trying new things and constantly tells me he's growing up. Now he sets me up for it "Mommy don't cry, but I am getting bigger and growing up." On his first day of school this year, he said "you can cry, but I have to go to school." Another realization to this Mommy he is very aware of my emotions and that he is growing up. He wants to play every sport, go anywhere accept the grocery store, he loves playing outside. He became quite the swimmer this year, but I still don't like him to be out of my sight. He gets to ride his bike in the road. I don't like it but he began a lot of his sentences this summer like this
"When I am 10 like Austin I will be able to........! really! He still likes to snuggle and most of the time, only Mommy will do. Popcorn is one of his favorite snacks. He asks for Bologna almost every day. I feel like I should keep stock in it. He knows the difference between Healthy and Junk food, but still prefers the junk (don't we all?). I think he was 49.5 inches tall at his last appt and weighs about 77 lbs. Yes I have two very BIG boys and two very Tiny girls. He is so special to all of us and I thank God everyday for this big light in our lives we call Isaiah Daniel!
He is a "Bandid"(aka Bandit, but a "good one")
He wanted a Cowboy/Rockstar/Skateboarder/Toy Story 3 themed party. We had our friends (my BFF Rachel's kids), Elijah and Baylie stay the night, night before his birthday.Austin and Samantha stayed the next night. For breakfast, we had "Egg tacos"(breakfast burritos). For lunch Hot dogs and chips on our way to the pool. Pool time with Our friends and family(Austin and Samantha) Papa came too. He wanted to head home early because he was "too excited to wait anymore at the pool for present time." We had fried chicken, baked potatoes with cheese only, corn, and biscuits (for him Jelly Biscuit).
Then present time. He always gets what he asks for. This year going with his cowboy them, he got new cowboy boots, a holster with 2 guns, a shot-gun, a set of fishing poles.
He also got a huge helicopter with GI joes in it,("that cost a lot of money because it's so big" is what he said when he opened it). He got some clothes, race tracks, a new train Toby, a lego toy, and a new bike from us.
He absoloutely loved everything. I think his favorite part was this year with his birthday money, instead of saving it, or buying him something else, we let him take it to the store and see how money is really spent. It was a very fun experience for both of us. When we got to the register to pay for his "claw race track" from Toy Story 3, he said "Mommy don't laugh at me when I talk to the guy because I'm shy." He was SO nervous, but he did good. Of course, Mommy had to pay the taxes.... :). He wanted a pinata, but I couldn't find one to go with his theme in town, so we played pin the tail on the donkey and gave out small gift bags. The house was crowded, but it was all family and Rachel's family, which is family anyway.
I made a horse cake that he picked out. I liked it, but was definately ready for bed when my head hit the pillow that night.
He also had his "school birthday" today at school. He is in 1st grade this year, at a new school. But I am thrilled that his teacher is Mrs. Manthe.
An old friend of mine from church and a family friend/ married Bill's cousin's cousin. If that makes sense. :) Mrs. Manthe (Katie) washed my hair at church camp when I sprained my arm one year. She also was one of the sweetest girls I have ever met. I'm so excited she's his teacher and know that he will do great in school. I do hope that she can put up with his talking, I also think he might be somewhat of a class clown. He is the youngest in his class, but not the smallest.
He had cupcakes, treat bags,(Mrs. Manthe got a special treat bag with "healthy snacks" an apple, banana, tomato from the garden and pretzels, and a balloon, all of which he planned. When I came in for his party, he posed for pictures with his "new friends" whom he doesn't know any of their names. Kept saying "Come on, you wanna take a picture with me?"
Also "This is my baby Thomas, and that's my sister Emily."
They sang to him and we handed out cupcakes.
He thought we should stay in his class all afternoon even after everyone left. He came up to me halfway through the party and hugged me and said "Thank you Mommy so much for coming to my school birthday." Melting my heart as always. As we were leaving the school, people would say "Happy Birthday" to him, to which his reply was, "thank you but it was my school birthday and it's over now." LOL.
Happy 6th Birthday Isaiah!!! :)

Great job on the party and the cake! It looked like a lot of fun.
I didn't know Katie was his teacher! How fun. I saw the picture and thought, "Oh, his teacher is cute....wait a minute....that looks like Katie!" I wish she could teach Mackenzie this year!!
Great post! Happy birthday Isaiah. How neat that Katie is his teacher!
